Registered Nurse – 24/7 Health Contact Centre (Night/Weekend)

About the role

This full‑time position provides 24/7 clinical support through a provincial health contact centre. The nurse will assess callers, offer health information, guide decision‑making and facilitate referrals, primarily during night and weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Answer calls around the clock, perform professional assessments and triage based on approved protocols.
• Provide health‑related information, assist callers with decision‑making regarding urgency and level of care, and arrange appropriate referrals.
• Document demographic data and encounter details in the electronic health record.
• Process new home‑care program nursing referrals from community sources, including physicians and walk‑in clinics.
• Support home‑care nurses after hours with problem‑solving on operational and clinical issues.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience in a community setting; home‑care experience is an asset.
• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program and current CPR certification.
• Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
• Participation in professional nursing associations is preferred.

Required skills

• Electronic Health Record documentation.
• CPR certification.
• Computer skills for data entry and protocol navigation.
