Project Superintendent – Construction

About the role

The Project Superintendent leads on‑site construction activities, reporting to the Operations Manager for overall operations and to the Project Manager for project‑specific matters. This role ensures safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and quality while coordinating with multiple internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce safety standards and WorkSafe regulations across all construction activities.
• Participate in bid reviews, pre‑construction meetings and develop detailed work plans.
• Direct and coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, and equipment to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
• Manage Project Foremen and key staff, approve schedules, vacations and oversee disciplinary actions.
• Recruit, recommend hiring, and mentor field staff to support career growth.
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to determine material and equipment requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, partners, suppliers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising construction crews and managing foremen.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and construction best practices.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades, subcontractors and resources on large projects.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior management and external partners.
• Demonstrated capability to recruit, mentor and develop field staff.
