About the role

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools is seeking a probationary full‑time Grade 5 teacher for St. Anthony School in Drayton Valley, Alberta. The appointment runs from August 26, 2026 to June 25, 2027 and provides an opportunity to teach in a Christ‑centered environment while supporting the school’s co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver the Grade 5 curriculum in alignment with provincial standards and Catholic values.
• Assess student learning, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with colleagues on school initiatives, including co‑curricular and extra‑curricular activities.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and community events.

Required profile

• Valid teaching certification for Alberta.
• Commitment to Catholic education; a certificate in Catholic Education is an asset.
• Willingness to assist with co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programs.
• Pastoral reference is considered an asset.
• Ability to pass a current Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector) and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record Check.
