Principal SQL Database Administrator – Remote – Latin America

About the role

FullStack is seeking a Principal SQL Database Administrator to join its talent network and work remotely with U.S. clients on large‑scale database environments. You will integrate directly into client teams, collaborating daily with designers and engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server across 1,000+ databases or equivalent enterprise environments.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization, including indexing strategy and execution‑plan analysis.
• Establish DBA standards, procedures, and best practices where formal processes are lacking.
• Prioritize and resolve production issues, ensuring database health and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional database administration experience.
• Advanced English proficiency and a four‑year college degree.
• Ability to work with regular overlap during Canadian business hours (Pacific or Eastern).
• Consultative mindset, strong ownership, and experience on Agile/Scrum teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft SQL Server administration in Windows‑hosted environments.
• SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, and execution‑plan analysis.
• CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
