About the role
The Manitoba HIV Program is seeking a Family Physician to serve as Primary Care Lead. This part‑time, permanent position (0.2 EFT, 8 hours/week) supports primary‑care providers caring for people living with HIV across Manitoba.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver education and training initiatives for HIV care.
- Consult with primary‑care providers to enhance HIV, STBBI, mental‑health and addiction services.
- Lead the creation and implementation of clinical protocols, guidelines and quality‑improvement projects.
- Collaborate with the Director, Clinical Education Coordinator and Medical Directors to advance provider capacity.
- Communicate program updates and best practices to stakeholders.
Required profile
- Family physician licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, in good standing.
- Minimum two years of primary‑care experience.
- Interest and experience in HIV/STBBI, mental health, addictions, harm‑reduction and health equity.
- Completion of the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS online training (or within one month of hire).
- Preferred: knowledge of cultural safety, Indigenous health, trauma‑informed care, and experience with 2SLGBTQI+ and substance‑using populations.
