Practice Education Coordinator

About the role

The Practice Education Coordinator supports the School of Nursing by managing the full recruitment cycle, onboarding, and professional development of sessional clinical instructors. This fixed‑term position ensures that clinical teaching staff are hired, trained, and placed in accordance with university policies and health authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct the complete recruitment process for sessional clinical instructors, including drafting job ads, interviewing, testing, reference checks, and onboarding.
• Develop and deliver orientation packages, professional development sessions, and off‑boarding procedures for clinical teaching faculty.
• Coordinate affiliation agreements with clinical placement agencies and maintain relationships with health authorities, hospitals, and community health sites.
• Forecast FTE needs, allocate clinical teaching staff to appropriate sites, and manage financial approvals for appointments.

Required profile

• Experience in full‑cycle recruitment and onboarding, preferably in an academic or health‑care setting.
• Knowledge of collective agreements, university HR policies, and BC College of Nurses and Midwives regulations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to liaise with faculty, external agencies, and internal HR teams.
