Associate Vice President, Total Rewards

About the role

The Associate Vice President, Total Rewards will lead the design, implementation and governance of compensation, benefits, pension and payroll programs for a respected Ontario‑based organization. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this senior leader will shape the total rewards strategy to ensure it is competitive, equitable and aligned with organizational priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight for compensation, incentives, job evaluation, benefits, pension and payroll governance.
• Develop and continuously improve frameworks, policies, controls and analytics to support sound decision‑making and a transparent employee experience.
• Advise senior leadership and HR on pay positioning, organization design and effectiveness.
• Lead process enhancements during periods of growth and transformation, leveraging external partners as needed.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a Total Rewards leader with deep compensation expertise.
• Strong understanding of payroll governance, financial controls and HR technology enablement.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor, balancing strategic thinking with operational execution.
• Experience in regulated environments such as the public sector or financial services is preferred.
