About the role
Take on the responsibility of a community leader with Canada Post. The Postmaster is the face of the local post office, supervising staff and promoting postal products and services.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with the local community regarding Canada Post services and products.
- Sell and promote postal products and services to the public and businesses.
- Provide suitable premises in a central location within 30 days of hire.
- Administer the post office to meet retail hours and delivery expectations.
- Manage postal revenue, assets and values, maintain records and prepare reports.
- Assist with effective management of mail delivery routes, including sorting mail and supervising staff.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent and/or experience in business administration.
- Owned or leased premises (suitable, central, barrier‑free) available one month prior to hire.
- Experience interacting with the public in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
- Physical ability to lift mail containers up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
Required skills
- Knowledge of regulations, methods and procedures for processing mail and providing postal services.
What we offer
- Leasing allowance of $2,283 per year to offset premises costs.
- Potential supplemental allowance paid annually.
- 22.5 hours per week schedule with defined shift times.
