Postmaster – Community Leader (Full-Time)

About the role

Take on the responsibility of a community leader with Canada Post. The Postmaster is the face of the local post office, supervising staff and promoting postal products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the local community regarding Canada Post services and products.
• Sell and promote postal products and services to the public and businesses.
• Provide suitable premises in a central location within 30 days of hire.
• Administer the post office to meet retail hours and delivery expectations.
• Manage postal revenue, assets and values, maintain records and prepare reports.
• Assist with effective management of mail delivery routes, including sorting mail and supervising staff.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent and/or experience in business administration.
• Owned or leased premises (suitable, central, barrier‑free) available one month prior to hire.
• Experience interacting with the public in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
• Physical ability to lift mail containers up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Knowledge of regulations, methods and procedures for processing mail and providing postal services.

What we offer

• Leasing allowance of $2,283 per year to offset premises costs.
• Potential supplemental allowance paid annually.
• 22.5 hours per week schedule with defined shift times.
