Storekeeper – Rotational Position on MV Saga X

About the role

The Storekeeper works aboard MV Saga X, supporting galley and store operations for a floating workforce accommodation. This hands‑on role involves receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing food, supplies, chemicals and other stock while maintaining strict food‑safety and inventory standards. The position follows a rotational schedule of 28 days on and 14 days off.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect deliveries of fresh, frozen, dry goods, beverages, cleaning supplies, chemicals and disposables, checking quantities, weights, expiry dates and condition.
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks and other material‑handling equipment to move pallets, carts, totes and bins safely.
• Maintain food‑safety practices, record temperatures for refrigerated and frozen items, and reject unsafe products.
• Issue stock to galley areas based on approved requisitions, record issuances and communicate shortages or substitutions.
• Conduct regular inventory counts, update inventory records and ensure proper FIFO rotation.
• Complete receiving logs, temperature logs, discrepancy reports and other documentation accurately.
• Support Saga Store inventory receiving, rotation and replenishment as assigned.

Required profile

• Physically capable of frequent pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25 kg and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail for food‑safety, inventory accuracy and documentation.
• Ability to work on a rotational schedule (28 days on / 14 days off) and adapt to vessel life.

Required skills

• Pallet jack and hand‑truck operation.
• Use of inventory management systems for stock tracking.
• Food‑safety temperature monitoring and record‑keeping.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals and cold‑storage items.
