Storekeeper Helper – Vessel Operations

About the role

The Storekeeper Helper supports galley operations on the MV Saga X by handling the receipt, inspection, storage and issue of food, supplies and operational stock. This is a physical, hands‑on position that requires strong attention to food safety, product rotation and workplace cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving, inspecting and storing fresh, frozen, refrigerated, dry and beverage deliveries for the galley.
• Issuing supplies to galley areas based on approved requisitions and production needs.
• Pulling, pushing, staging and moving pallets, carts, totes and heavy cases using pallet jacks and other vessel‑approved equipment.
• Maintaining clear aisles, safe walkways and properly stacked storage areas.
• Recording temperatures for refrigerated and frozen items and rejecting unsafe products.

Required profile

• Physically capable of frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and standing for extended periods (up to 25 kg loads).
• Comfortable working in coolers, freezers, dry stores and on vessel surfaces while following safety procedures.
• Reliable, organized and able to work independently under direction of the Storekeeper.

Required skills

• Pallet jack and material‑handling equipment operation.
• Food safety and temperature‑control procedures.
• WHMIS or chemical‑handling knowledge (preferred).
