Personal Support Worker – Nursing Care

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Personal Support Worker to deliver nursing care to residents in a nursing home or aged‑care setting in Markham. The role involves providing personal assistance, monitoring health indicators, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for each client.

Key responsibilities

• Supply and empty bed pans, take blood pressure, temperature and pulse.
• Serve meal trays, feed or assist patients with feeding.
• Weigh, lift, turn and position patients; transport them in wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Make beds, maintain rooms, perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Bath, dress, groom and provide personal hygiene assistance.
• Collect specimens and administer first aid or emergency care.

Required profile

• College, CEGEP or equivalent 1‑2 year certificate/diploma, or comparable experience.
• Certificates: Basic Cardiac Life Support, First Aid, CPR, Nursing Aide, Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker.
• Clear criminal record, vulnerable sector check, immunization records, tuberculosis test.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts (morning, evening, night, weekends, on‑call).
