Part‑Time Registered Practical Nurse – Fracture Clinic

About the role

The Waterloo Regional Health Network is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join its Fracture Clinic on a part‑time basis. Working 20 hours per week (8:00 am‑4:00 pm), you will provide direct nursing care to patients of all ages who have undergone orthopedic, general or plastic surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with minor surgical procedures and maintain a sterile field.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and removal of sutures or staples.
• Educate patients on post‑operative care and wound management.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and other health‑care professionals.
• Adapt to a fast‑paced environment with high patient turnover.

Required profile

• Current Registration Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum one year of experience assisting minor surgeries in orthopaedic, general or plastic surgery.
• At least one year of experience setting up sterile fields and providing wound care.
• Ability to work independently, reliable attendance and strong communication skills.
