Part-Time Inclusive Child Care Worker

About the role

Join BGC Okanagan as a Part‑Time Inclusive Child Care Worker and help children with diverse developmental and support needs thrive in a welcoming childcare environment. You will work collaboratively with families, consultants and community partners to deliver inclusive services.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in assessment, goal setting and program planning for each child.
• Support children with a range of support needs in childcare, after‑school or life‑skills programs.
• Facilitate physical, recreational, educational, social and vocational activities.
• Recognize, manage and report potential emergency situations, including aggressive behaviour.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as daily case notes, statistical data and program reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in a human or social service field.
• At least one year of experience working with children and youth with support needs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for travel between sites.
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
• ECE or ECE Assistant certification considered an asset.
