Operations Manager – Property Management

About the role

An innovative, energetic, and flexible professional is needed to manage day‑to‑day operations of a 450,000 sq ft outdoor shopping centre with 150,000 sq ft of office space at Station Square in Metrotown.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, maintenance scheduling, and preventative maintenance program for the mixed‑use centre.
• Monitor and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, mechanical, life‑safety, and vertical‑transportation systems.
• Coordinate legislative and diagnostic testing on equipment such as emergency generators and sprinkler flows.
• Manage construction and service contractors, ensuring quality and scope compliance.
• Lead the maintenance team, conduct performance discussions, and enforce health‑and‑safety policies.
• Prepare and implement annual operating and capital budgets.
• Build strong tenant relationships and deliver proactive service.
• Collaborate with leasing, asset management, construction, and other stakeholders.
• Be on call for property emergencies.

Required profile

• Proven ability to foster positive relationships with tenants, customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Demonstrated multitasking capability and independent self‑starter attitude.
• Forward‑thinking problem‑solver with confidence to take charge.

Required skills

• 4th Class Power Engineering Certification
• Working knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems, life‑safety, building automation control, and water treatment
• Experience managing computerized preventative maintenance programs
• Experience supervising capital projects
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
