Occupational Therapist – Employment Hub

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join the Employment Hub program of the Calgary John Howard Society. This outreach‑based position supports adults transitioning from correctional settings into the community and into successful employment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments covering cognition, addictions, physical health, and daily living.
• Develop and implement client‑centered intervention plans.
• Facilitate referrals and liaise with healthcare providers and community resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to program development and evaluation.
• Support clients in gaining and maintaining employment.
• Facilitate group sessions to increase client ability to enter the workforce.

Required profile

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists.
• Experience working with marginalized populations, including those with mental health and addiction challenges.
• Strong understanding of community resources and healthcare systems.
• Excellent communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Brain Story Certification considered an asset.
