Mergers and Acquisitions Tax, Senior Manager

About the role

PwC is hiring a Senior Manager for its Mergers and Acquisitions Tax practice in Toronto. The role advises clients on local and overseas tax matters and acts as a strategic consultant on business analysis and M&A tax solutions, including transaction structuring, tax due diligence, internal reorganizations and post-acquisition integration. It is a newly created position.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the historical tax risks of potential targets and analyze proposed transactions for unusual tax risks or undetermined tax benefits.
• Advise clients on tax-efficient restructurings and perform financial analysis and modeling to assess the tax consequences of transactions.
• Coach associates and senior associates, resolve issues that hinder team effectiveness and coach others to take ownership of their development.
• Analyze complex proposals, draw on multiple sources of information and stakeholder views, and simplify complex messages for clients.
• Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

Required profile

• Over 5 years of proven, practical experience in M&A tax.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasked environment and to take initiative and own projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in technology and AI; a commitment to valuing differences and developing diverse teams.
• Experience in corporate and/or international tax research, cross-border transactions or consulting and compliance in a professional services firm, industry, government agency or law firm is an asset; CPA or CA designation is an asset; completion of the M.Tax Program or In-Depth is a strong asset.
• Fluency in French is required for Quebec-based roles; outside Quebec it is an asset.

What we offer

• Salary range of $128,900 - $178,900, depending on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
