Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Manager

About the role

PwC is hiring a Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Manager in Toronto for its Tax line of service. The role advises clients on local and overseas tax matters and acts as a strategic consultant on business analysis and M&A tax solutions, including transaction structuring, tax due diligence, internal reorganizations and post-acquisition integration. It is a newly created management-level position.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs and on tax-efficient restructurings
• Assess historical tax risks of potential targets and analyze proposed transactions for unusual tax risks or undetermined tax benefits
• Perform financial analysis and modeling to assess the tax consequences of specific transactions
• Coach associates and senior associates, resolve issues that hinder team effectiveness and coach others to take ownership of their development
• Analyze complex ideas and proposals, draw on multiple sources of information and stakeholder views, and simplify complex messages
• Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and developing and coaching diverse teams
• Proven, practical experience in M&A tax
• Keen interest in technology and AI
• Experience in corporate and/or international tax research, cross-border transactions or consulting and compliance in a professional services firm, industry, government agency or law firm is an asset
• CPA or CA designation is an asset; completion of the M.Tax Program or In-Depth is a strong asset
• Fluency in French is required for Quebec-based roles; outside Quebec it is an asset

What we offer

• Salary range of $84,700 - $134,700, depending on skills, experience, qualifications and location
