Medical Science Liaison – Breast Cancer (Quebec)

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Breast Cancer will be based in Quebec and will serve as a scientific bridge between Novartis and external oncology experts. This field‑based position focuses on delivering high‑quality scientific exchange, gathering insights, and supporting patient‑focused decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain credible, compliant relationships with key external experts across Quebec.
• Lead in‑depth scientific discussions on breast‑cancer data, products and disease area.
• Analyse local territory dynamics, expert networks and unmet needs to shape field‑medical priorities.
• Identify opportunities for scientific value through timely insights, expert interactions and medical education activities.
• Collaborate with internal medical, commercial and market‑access teams while preserving MSL independence.
• Collect, synthesize and communicate external insights to inform medical strategy.
• Represent Novartis with strong communication, business acumen and the ability to translate complex science.
• Share knowledge and best practices with a team of three MSLs; no direct people‑management responsibilities.
• Ensure all activities comply with ethical, scientific and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Advanced scientific, medical or healthcare education (preferred).
• Relevant MSL or field‑medical experience in Canada is an asset.
• Fluent in both French and English (spoken and written).
• Proven ability to conduct credible, data‑driven discussions with experts.
• Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Understanding of local healthcare dynamics and expert‑engagement requirements.
• Proactive mindset, strategic thinking and business acumen.
• Commitment to compliant, ethical and patient‑focused scientific engagement.
