Medical Receptionist – Patient-Focused Care

About the role

Join a patient‑focused primary care clinic in Vaughan as the welcoming face of MDDirect. You will provide professional front‑desk support, ensuring every patient feels valued throughout their healthcare journey.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous reception services to patients and visitors.
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
• Maintain administrative databases and manage annual physical records.
• Mail important materials to patients as needed.
• Prepare and process invoices and receipts.
• Answer and direct multi‑line phone calls with empathy and efficiency.
• Support clinical and administrative staff with additional tasks.
• Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail while handling multiple tasks.
• Prioritize work and calmly diffuse challenging situations.
• Utilize medical terminology knowledge to keep workflow smooth.
• Document patient information accurately.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in a medical office or similar administrative role.
• Relevant formal training and professional appearance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Experience with multi‑line phone systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR applications (preferred).
• Commitment to outstanding patient service.
• CPR certification (preferred).

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with EMR applications.
• Experience using multi‑line phone systems.
