Mechanical Designer – Stainless Steel Equipment

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our growing team at CMP, a stainless‑steel equipment manufacturer serving food‑processing customers across North America and internationally. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and fabricators to create hygienic, cost‑effective equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design industrial and food‑processing equipment based on product and design engineer instructions.
• Develop and maintain drawings, 3D models, and documentation using AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks within Autodesk Vault.
• Create and input Bills of Materials (BOMs) into the ERP system.
• Provide technical support and act as liaison between field support, shop staff, and design teams.
• Ensure designs meet specifications, optimise material use, and comply with health & safety policies.
• Validate designs from concept through to commissioning, including testing and installation.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or related engineering discipline.
• EGBC registration (P.Eng or EIT) preferred.
• Experience in food‑processing equipment design is a plus.
• Team player with a self‑motivated, can‑do attitude and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and problem‑solving skills.
