Math, Physical Education & Career Teacher (Grades 7‑8) – Temporary

About the role

This temporary full‑time position is for a qualified teacher to deliver Math, Physical Education and Career Education to Grades 7‑8 at Laurie Middle School in Cranbrook. The contract runs from September 2026 (or the date the posting process is completed) until June 2027, or until the incumbent returns.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess curriculum for Math 7, Math 8, Physical Education 7, Physical Education 8 and Career Education 7.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Manage classroom environments that promote safety, engagement and respect.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and school staff to support school initiatives and the collective agreement.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development and extracurricular activities as required.

Required profile

• BC Teacher Certification preferred.
• A degree, formal training or teaching experience at the intermediate (Grades 7‑8) level in Math, Physical Education and/or Career Education.
• Demonstrated ability to teach multiple subjects and adapt instruction to diverse learners.
• Willingness to work on‑site at Laurie Middle School for the duration of the contract.
