Manager, Accounting & Tax (Remote)

About the role

ConnectCPA, an online, virtual and paperless licensed CPA firm, is looking for a Manager, Accounting & Tax to join its team remotely from anywhere in Canada. The posting is open to future opportunities and general networking, so if a role matching your background opens, the firm may reach out.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial statements and corresponding tax returns (corporate and sales tax) for select clients
• Assist Senior Managers in preparing for quarterly and annual tax planning meetings with clients and identify tax-planning opportunities
• Mentor and manage a team of Associates and Senior Associates
• Carry out accounting and tax research and analysis
• Manage various Canada Revenue Agency requests

Required profile

• Canadian CPA designation
• At least 4 years of post-qualification experience at a small or mid-sized accounting firm focused on owner-managed businesses
• Excellent understanding of corporate tax, sales tax and financial statements
• Experience managing a team of associates with varying levels of experience
• Strong internet connection of at least 6 Mbps up and down

Required skills

• Accounting knowledge: bookkeeping, invoicing, payables and tax rates
• Tech savviness and quick learning of new software; experience with Xero, QuickBooks Online, Wagepoint, Hubdoc and Dext is a plus
