Legal Assistant – Labour & Employment Law (Vancouver)

About the role

We are a nationally‑recognized boutique law firm specializing in Labour & Employment law. Our Vancouver office is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to senior partners in a fast‑paced, litigation‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist multiple lawyers with management‑side labour and employment matters, including arbitrations, BC Labour Relations Board and Human Rights Tribunal proceedings.
• Prepare, draft and transcribe correspondence, pleadings, court documents and other legal filings while adhering to BC court procedures.
• Maintain lawyers’ calendars, schedule meetings and coordinate appointments.
• Organise and manage client files both electronically and physically.
• Handle client communications, perform general administrative duties, and enter daily time entries.
• Assist in preparing monthly client accounts, disbursements and monitor filing deadlines.
• Provide additional administrative support as required to ensure high standards of client service.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 + years of experience as a Legal Assistant in litigation and/or labour & employment law.
• Familiarity with BC Labour Relations Board and Human Rights Tribunal matters is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of BC court processes and litigation procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Acumin.
• Familiarity with document management systems (DMS).
