Lead Operator / Day Foreman – Natural Gas Processing

About the role

An established natural gas processing facility in the Grande Prairie Region is seeking a Lead Operator / Day Foreman to oversee daily plant operations, provide hands‑on leadership to operators, and coordinate maintenance activities in a dynamic gas processing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and technical guidance to gas plant operators to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
• Troubleshoot plant issues, resolve complex process and equipment challenges, and coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams.
• Promote safety by leading hazard awareness, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, ABSA and AER regulations, and site procedures.
• Monitor plant performance, support optimization, and maintain cost‑effective production.
• Maintain and improve operating procedures across all shifts.
• Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes and documentation.
• Support plant startups, shutdowns, turnarounds, and commissioning events.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities, execution, and equipment reliability.
• Mentor and coach operators, oversee sampling, inspections, and regulatory log management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineer certification (required); preference for 2nd or 1st Class.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in gas processing operations.
• Strong technical expertise in sulphur recovery and related gas processing systems.
• Eligibility to work legally in Canada.
