Junior Accountant

About the role

The Junior Accountant will join Fraser Academy’s Business Office, reporting to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) or their delegate. This role provides essential accounting and administrative support, ensuring that monthly accounting and banking transactions are processed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, employee expense reimbursements, and credit‑card expense reports promptly.
• Prepare cheque runs, EFT transfers, and reconcile credit‑card statements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date Excel spreadsheets for expenses and accounts payable.
• File vendor and deposit records electronically or on paper.
• Record capital assets, calculate depreciation, and prepare related accounting reports.
• Prepare tuition receipts and assist with special events as needed.
• Monitor accounting inconsistencies and take immediate corrective action.

Required profile

• 2+ years of accounts payable or full‑cycle local accounting experience, preferably in a non‑profit environment.
• High degree of diligence, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Proactive self‑starter able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Professional communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Sage accounting software.
• MS Office Suite (including Excel).
• Google Suite.
