About the role

Join Scotiabank’s Global Banking & Markets team in Toronto as an Investment Banking Analyst within the Financial Institutions Group. This entry‑level position is designed for recent graduates who are eager to develop expertise in corporate finance, client advisory and transaction execution.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyse corporate clients’ financial needs and develop detailed financial models.
• Create marketing materials and client presentations to support deal origination.
• Assist in structuring and executing transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, debt and equity financing.
• Collaborate with senior bankers and other product groups such as Corporate Banking, Equity Capital Markets and Fixed Income.
• Participate in the Capital Ideas training program to build technical and soft skills.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in finance, economics, business or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
