Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager oversees day‑to‑day financial operations, leads the finance team and supports strategic financial planning for Tla‑o‑qui‑aht First Nation. The role balances operational leadership with long‑term sustainability guided by the Nation’s principle of ʔiisaak.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage finance staff while overseeing daily financial operations.
• Coordinate budgeting activities and contribute to the Nation’s annual organizational budget.
• Prepare and oversee accurate financial reporting, statements and budget monitoring.
• Support month‑end accounting, budget reviews and transactional processes.
• Collaborate with the Payroll Manager on employee benefits administration and reporting.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Administration, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum two years of management experience within a First Nations organization.
• Interest in pursuing a CPA designation (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Adagio financial software.
• Familiarity with financial information systems.
