Interior Finish Carpenter

About the role

The Interior Finish Carpenter is responsible for interpreting design documents, preparing materials, and installing interior components to meet project specifications while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Instruct apprentices and coordinate activities with other supervisors or managers.
• Utilize hand and power tools while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Inspect sites for safety and cleanliness standards and repair or replace interior components as needed.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Carpenter Trade Certification.
• Minimum five years of experience in interior finish carpentry.
• Ability to meet language requirements (English or French).
• Physical capability to bend, crouch, kneel, lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
