Drywall Installer – Commercial & Residential Projects

About the role

Spaar is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to work on commercial and residential projects in Calgary. The role involves reading blueprints, installing drywall sheets, and finishing surfaces in a variety of settings.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets on metal or wooden studs.
• Apply successive coats of joint compound, sand seams and joints, and tape over joints using a taping machine.
• Install metal corner beads, vapour barriers, insulation and cut openings for utilities.
• Erect and work from scaffolding, swing stages or ladders at heights.
• Mix plaster ingredients, clean and prepare surfaces, and ensure proper curing.

Required profile

• 1 to less than 2 years of drywall installation experience.
• Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate and Fall Arrest Protection Training.
• Ability to work at heights, handle loads up to 45 kg and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Client focus, dependability, flexibility, good judgement and teamwork.
