Human Resources Generalist (HR Generalist)

About the role

Hagen Industries, a family‑owned Canadian leader in pet products, is looking for a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join its team in Ville Saint‑Laurent. You will work in a hybrid environment (3‑4 days onsite) supporting a growing production workforce and helping shape a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑cycle recruitment for production and succession planning, using the company ATS and partnering with hiring managers.
• Coordinate onboarding, manage documentation, and ensure a smooth start for new hires.
• Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance issues, promotions, and learning paths.
• Maintain HR records, update employee files, and align administrative practices with the Head Office HR team.
• Answer payroll and benefits questions, serving as liaison for benefits administration.
• Support performance management processes, including annual reviews and 3‑month check‑ins.
• Manage health & safety compliance, act as primary contact for CNESST, and handle workplace injury files.
• Provide cross‑functional support, covering administrative and finance tasks during absences.
• Welcome visitors, manage reception duties, and assist in planning company events.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of HR experience, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Proven full‑cycle recruitment expertise.
• Excellent communication in French and solid proficiency in English.
• Degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations.
• Ability to work effectively in both office and manufacturing environments.

Required skills

• Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
