About the role

Huawei Canada is seeking a Recruiter on a 12‑month contract to design and execute recruitment strategies for technical and research positions, focusing on AI and software roles.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies for technical and research positions, with a focus on AI and software roles.
• Source candidates through professional networks, online platforms, industry events, and academic institutions.
• Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate with hiring managers throughout the selection process.
• Build and maintain relationships with universities, research institutions, and professional communities to create talent pipelines.
• Stay current on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitive recruiting practices in the tech and AI sectors.
• Manage the candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.
• Track recruitment metrics and regularly report on hiring progress.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to understand technical requirements and translate them into effective job descriptions.

Required profile

• 1+ years of recruiting experience, specializing in technical roles such as AI, software engineering, computer science, or data science.
• Strong understanding of technical roles and qualifications in AI and software development.
• Strong networking skills with the ability to build relationships in technical communities.
• Experience recruiting for research scientist positions in academic or industry settings.
• Background in technology, computer science, or a related field.
