HR Specialist

About the role

Huawei Canada is seeking an HR Specialist on a 12‑month contract to support the Human Resources Department across the organization. The role focuses on policy compliance, employee support, and coordination of training and engagement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures and legal regulations, and assist in updating and communicating policies.
• Serve as a reliable source of information for employees, answering HR policy enquiries promptly.
• Maintain HR databases and systems, guaranteeing accuracy and confidentiality of employee records.
• Generate reports and analyse HR metrics as required.
• Coordinate training programs, workshops and other development initiatives, and evaluate training effectiveness.
• Support HR projects such as employee engagement, diversity and inclusion efforts, and process improvements.
• Provide administrative assistance including calendar management, meeting scheduling and correspondence handling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in HR or a related function with demonstrated progression.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
