Home Child Care Provider

About the role

We are looking for a reliable home child care provider to support a family in Hamilton by caring for their children and maintaining a safe, nurturing household environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the household when parents are away, including light housekeeping and cleaning.
• Bath, dress, feed, and supervise infants and children according to parents’ routines.
• Discipline children using methods requested by the parents.
• Teach personal hygiene, social skills, and organize games and outings.
• Maintain daily activity and health records for each child.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
• Prepare children for rest periods and ensure a safe environment.
• Transport children to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities using public transit.
• Support children’s emotional well‑being and assist with homework.
• Provide care for children with special needs, including autistic children.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of child‑care experience, preferably with autistic children.
• Ability to work in a non‑smoking, employer‑home setting; optional live‑in accommodation not required.
• Client‑focused attitude with excellent oral communication.
• Flexibility, initiative, organization, reliability, patience and honesty.
