Community Outreach Specialist

About the role

CityKidz is seeking a passionate, outgoing Community Outreach Specialist to build nurturing relationships with children and caregivers in Hamilton. This part‑time contract position involves weekly home visits, Saturday program support, and community engagement to help low‑income families access CityKidz services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead community outreach in Hamilton, including weekly home visits and communication with families about CityKidz programs, events, and policies.
• Coordinate and supervise volunteers for home visits, Saturday bus transportation, and Saturday program logistics.
• Recruit new participants, serve as a brand ambassador, and report any child‑safety concerns to the coordinator.
• Support Saturday program logistics and assist with planning and implementing community recruitment and retention events.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 21 and ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Experience working with vulnerable children and youth populations.
• Valid driver’s licence, regular access to a vehicle, and comfort being on buses.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently with moderate supervision and within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Canva.
• Excellent verbal communication and relationship‑building abilities.
