General Duty Nurse (N2) – Women’s Health Nursing Float

About the role

Shared Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Women’s Health Nursing Float team at the Health Sciences Centre Women’s Hospital in Winnipeg. This fixed‑term position provides coverage for maternity leave and involves caring for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs across day, night, and weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver independent nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications safely.
• Coordinate patient care and discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional standards of practice.
• Participate in unit meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
• Preference for candidates with experience in women’s health areas such as maternal/newborn, labour and delivery, or gynecology.
• Active participation in professional nursing associations is desirable.

Required skills

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Knowledge of Manitoba nursing standards, Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics, and relevant provincial legislation (PHIA, WHMIS, etc.).
