General Duty Nurse (N2) – Neurosurgery Clinic

About the role

The Neurosurgery Clinic is seeking a General Duty Nurse (N2) to deliver professional registered nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Working under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, you will provide independent nursing care, administer prescribed treatments, and lead the healthcare team in coordinating patient care and discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to neurosurgery patients, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring.
• Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications safely.
• Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Facilitate patient discharge planning and coordinate follow‑up services.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (Accuro).

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years recent medicine/surgery nursing experience.
• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
• CPR certification in accordance with employer policy.
• Preferable experience in neurosurgery, ambulatory care, and use of Accuro EMR.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Accuro Electronic Medical Record.
• Competence in Windows operating system, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
