Full-Time Assistant Manager

About the role

Hot Topic is looking for a Full‑Time Assistant Manager to help lead its busiest mall store. You’ll partner with the Store Manager to drive sales, build a passionate team, and deliver an engaging in‑store experience for customers who love music and pop culture.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in meeting sales targets and comp‑sales goals.
• Recruit, train, and retain a collaborative, high‑performing team.
• Promote new products and store events through social media, BOPIS, and curbside pickup.
• Maintain operational excellence, including shrink/loss prevention, payroll, scheduling, and associate hours.
• Communicate trends and customer feedback to retail leadership and HQ partners.
• Analyze sales reports and use data to adjust strategies.
• Merchandise the store according to planograms and launch promotions on schedule.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of retail store management experience.
• Strong passion for music, pop culture, and customer service.
• Proven ability to lead, communicate, and develop team members.
• High school diploma or GED; post‑secondary education is a plus.
• Comfort with fast‑changing retail environments and physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lb).
