Fuel & Lube Technician

About the role

ML Northern is seeking Fuel & Lube Technicians to join its remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area, working on Syncrude and Suncor sites. The role involves fueling, lubricating, and basic maintenance of heavy equipment in a physically demanding environment.

Key responsibilities

• Fuel and lubricate heavy equipment in the field and at Lube Islands.
• Perform oil and filter changes, and assist with preventive maintenance services.
• Support maintenance crews with lube extraction/refilling during repairs.
• Operate and service large loading equipment, and perform general yard clean‑up tasks.
• Conduct safety checks, equipment walk‑arounds, and report any needed repairs.

Required profile

• Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement.
• Ability to operate standard vehicles; experience with forklifts, bobcats, and loaders is a plus.
• Self‑starter with a safety‑first attitude and strong listening skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education considered an asset.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake.
• Forklift operation.
• Bobcat operation.
• Loader operation.
• Aerial Work Platform (AWP) certification (asset).
• Fall Arrest certification (asset).

What we offer

• Combined pay rate up to $53.32 CAD per hour.
