Mill Operator - Gold Processing Plant

About the role

Evolution Mining is hiring Mill Operators for its Red Lake processing plant, one of the highest-grade gold deposits in Canada. The Mill Operator operates, monitors, inspects, troubleshoots and optimizes mineral processing circuits such as crushing, grinding, gravity concentration, flotation, thickening, filtration, reagent systems, tailings, water treatment and control room operations. The posting covers all levels, from entry-level to advanced and control room operators, and is a residential role on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation with day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Safely start up, operate, monitor and shut down equipment and systems within your area of responsibility.
• Monitor plant performance, process parameters and equipment condition to meet production, recovery and quality targets.
• Carry out field and control room duties, including inspections, sampling, process adjustments and data recording.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and take corrective action to minimize downtime.
• Maintain housekeeping and a clean, organized, safe work environment.
• Report and address safety hazards, environmental concerns and equipment defects.
• Take part in inspections, preventative maintenance, lockout procedures and equipment isolations.
• Support continuous improvement and help train and mentor team members.
• Communicate with operators, maintenance, supervisors and other departments and comply with legislation, site procedures and company standards.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to work various schedules and rotations.
• Strong work ethic, able to work alone or in a team and with limited supervision.
• Ontario Mill Common Core considered an asset.
