Financial Services Corporate Tax Manager

About the role

PwC's financial services tax team in Toronto offers compliance, consulting and advisory services to clients on tax compliance, planning and strategy. As a Financial Services Corporate Tax Manager, you will advise financial institutions on optimising their tax positions and navigating complex tax regulations, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and report to partners and senior team members
• Contribute to business development by identifying and researching opportunities with new and existing clients
• Help deliver large projects for prominent public and private clients
• Develop strategies to solve complex technical tax challenges
• Train, coach, mentor and supervise junior tax professionals
• Work with outsourced delivery centres on tax automation processes and tools
• Stay up to date with local and national business and economic issues

Required profile

• CPA designation (or equivalent) with participation in the CPA In-Depth Tax Program, or MTax as a strong asset
• Proven tax consulting experience in financial services or a public accounting firm
• Strong technical background and broad tax skills, with experience in professional services, industry tax consulting and/or compliance
• Collaborative leadership, strong business development and entrepreneurial skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple assignments and mentor junior professionals

Required skills

• Corporate tax planning, business tax returns and income tax provisions
• Controlled foreign companies (taxes) and corporate interest restriction
• Proficiency with current technologies and curiosity about GenAI

What we offer

• Salary range of $84,700 - $134,700, with possible variable incentive pay
