Financial Reporting Specialist (Remote)

About the role

Mercor is seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist to work fully remotely on complex technical accounting projects. The role focuses on building deterministic rubrics and scenarios for external reporting and controllership tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Design long‑horizon technical accounting tasks with deterministic rubrics for performance evaluation.
• Develop external reporting scenarios, including tie‑out numbers and consolidations.
• Create technical accounting deliverables based on ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 805 with documented conclusions.
• Design policy and control scenarios, covering SOX narratives and statutory packages.
• Work independently on challenging tasks that require extended periods of concentration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of experience in controllership, technical accounting, or external reporting.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to articulate reasoning step‑by‑step.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
