Finance Manager

About the role

The Portfolio Finance Manager provides financial management for an assigned portfolio at UBC's Okanagan campus. The role develops, analyses, and implements financial controls and systems to support the academic and operational goals of faculties and administration units.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and direct initiatives for efficient management of financial resources across the portfolio.
• Monitor financial effectiveness and efficiency of all units, recommending changes in consultation with the Associate Director and portfolio leaders.
• Provide advice on the application of financial policies and procedures.
• Coordinate financial activities and reporting with campus and central services, including Treasury, University Counsel, and Internal Audit.
• Collaborate with other Portfolio Finance Managers to share knowledge and best practices.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in financial management within a large or academic organisation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with leaders across multiple campuses and central services.
• Strong understanding of financial policies, budgeting, and strategic decision support.
