Field Service Technician – Industrial Mechanic / Millwright

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a licensed Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic/Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to join its Mechanical Cutting division. You will provide on‑site maintenance, repair, and commissioning of battery‑electric mining equipment across Western Canada on a 14‑day on/14‑day off roster.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of mining equipment.
• Plan and gather required tools and parts according to work procedures.
• Conduct pre‑delivery inspections and hot commissioning at customer sites.
• Execute root‑cause analysis to resolve recurring issues.
• Deliver preventive and cost‑efficient repairs.
• Support customers by suggesting equipment or process improvements.
• Complete detailed maintenance and repair reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification.
• Experience with battery‑electric mining equipment and mechanical systems.
• Willingness to work a 14‑days‑on/14‑days‑off schedule and travel to remote sites.
• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
