Field Service Heavy Duty Mechanic – Underground

About the role
Sandvik Mining is looking for a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join its Field Service team in Ontario. You will work on underground mining equipment, providing on‑site troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning for our customers.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect surface and underground mining equipment, diagnose faults and malfunctions.
- Adjust, repair or replace defective mechanical and electrical components according to work orders.
- Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation.
- Commission new equipment and deliver training at customer sites.
- Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports and parts lists.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and adhere to safety policies.
Required profile
- Relevant trade certification (Red Seal considered an asset).
- At least 3 years of experience working with mining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Commitment to safety, including risk assessments and proper PPE use.
Required skills
- Mechanical repair of heavy‑duty equipment.
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Equipment commissioning and start‑up procedures.
