External Audit Senior Associate (Bilingual FR/EN)

About the role

PwC Canada is hiring a bilingual (French and English) External Audit Senior Associate in Montreal. The role sits in the Assurance line of service and involves delivering assurance services and business advice to clients ranging from small, fast-growing companies to large, internationally active entities. It follows the departure of a valued team member and offers a career path within external audit.

Key responsibilities

• Work in client-facing teams and support the development of the audit approach and planning procedures.
• Coach and give feedback to junior members of the engagement team.
• Review financial and accounting records, documents and tangible items such as inventory, plant and equipment, and observe processes.
• Ask formal written and informal oral questions with individuals at the client organization.
• Test internal controls and assess significant estimates, judgments or assumptions made by management.
• Verify and test financial statements and supporting disclosures, and perform completion procedures before issuing the audit report.

Required profile

• Demonstrated progressive experience at Senior Associate level with external audit clients in a professional services firm.
• Qualified Canadian CPA, or an equivalent recognized/reciprocal designation, or a commitment to complete the Canadian CPA and meet its eligibility requirements.
• Fluency in English and French, as collaboration with English-speaking clients, colleagues and stakeholders is required.
• Previous experience coaching and leading engagement teams, project management experience, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Excellent understanding of Canadian auditing standards; knowledge of US auditing standards and/or PCAOB is considered.
• Knowledge of IFRS and/or ASPE; US GAAP is an asset.
• Technical skills in accounting reporting and auditing standards, and experience designing engagement procedures based on risk and materiality.

The salary range is $53,600 - $89,300, with possible variable incentive pay for eligible employees. The position does not require work visa sponsorship or government clearance.
