Executive Director, Operations – pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance

About the role

The Executive Director, Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Analytics and Negotiations functions of the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA). Reporting to the CEO, this senior leader will help drive the 2026‑2029 strategic plan, ensuring the alliance delivers value through world‑class drug price negotiations and sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Analytics and Negotiations teams, setting direction and performance standards.
• Implement the organization’s strategic plan, focusing on operational excellence and measurable impact.
• Strengthen relationships with federal, provincial and territorial public drug plans and other pharmaceutical ecosystem partners.
• Ensure the pCPA negotiates drug prices effectively and supports long‑term healthcare sustainability.
• Coach and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.

Required profile

• Accomplished operational leader with a proven track record from hands‑on execution to strategic oversight.
• Deep understanding of healthcare, pharmaceutical or related environments.
• Strong judgment, emotional intelligence and ability to navigate complex multi‑jurisdictional stakeholder relationships.
• Capacity to make sound decisions in ambiguous situations and align technical expertise with organizational priorities.
