Relief Health Promoter (Internal Posting)

About the role

The Relief Health Promoter delivers pre‑approved mental health education and promotion sessions to diverse community audiences across Peterborough and the Four Counties. Work is performed on a relief basis while maintaining full hours in the employee's primary position.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver public education on mental illness, stigma, and wellness to schools, non‑profits, religious groups and community organisations, both virtually and in‑person.
• Represent C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. at health fairs and events, providing information on local mental health resources and services.
• Collect, analyse and report baseline and outcome data for each session, ensuring compliance with funding and reporting requirements.
• Participate in performance management, professional development, and agency quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Psychology, Health Promotion, etc.).
• Current certifications as a trainer in ASIST, Living Life to the Fullest, SafeTALK or Mental Health First Aid are assets.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and satisfactory police record.
• Proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination and ability to work remotely with reliable internet.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience using presentation technology and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Completed health and safety trainings: WHMIS 2015, Infection Prevention & Control, Workplace Violence, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, First Aid/CPR.
