Event Specialist - Toronto

About the role

Oliver & Bonacini Events is looking for an Event Specialist in Toronto to manage all inbound business. The specialist handles client communications throughout the event cycle, using Triple Seat to share accurate event details with clients and teams, and works to turn clients back each year while educating them about other venues in the O&B portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Network with and build relationships with new and current clients
• Gather event details, prepare packages and send confirmation details to clients
• Use sales tools such as proposals, site tours and planning meetings to close leads
• Follow up after events to create new bookings and Moments of Truths
• Deliver excellent customer service and anticipate the needs of the operations and kitchen teams
• Meet weekly deadlines for BEOs, respond quickly to client requests and contribute to the annual sales targets and venue goals
• Prioritize business and present promising deals to management for negotiation

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience coordinating a variety of events, including small, large and high-profile functions
• Team player with self-motivation and independent work ethic
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to engage clients
• Attention to detail, strong organization and sales ability
• Ability to multi-task and work from the downtown Toronto office (Bay/Queen St)
• Legally eligible to work in Canada

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• IT and computer savviness
• Time management and prioritization
