Ethnic Food Cook – Mexican Cuisine

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Ethnic Food Cook to join our Mexican kitchen in Ottawa. You will be responsible for preparing authentic Mexican dishes while ensuring quality, safety, and consistency for every guest.

Key responsibilities

• Determine portion sizes and calculate food costs for each dish.
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual items according to Mexican recipes.
• Adapt dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• Order supplies and equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Keep the kitchen and work areas clean and organized.
• Assist in managing overall kitchen operations.

Required profile

• 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a restaurant kitchen.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Client‑focused, dependable, flexible, and able to exercise good judgement.
• Organized, reliable, and a strong team player.
• Willingness to work evenings, days, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
